Leibester Award

After long thought about whether I should do this, I thought oh what the heck it's a bit of fun! Over the past couple of months, I have been nominated for the Leibester award quite a few times. I always read the posts from other people, but never got round to completing it myself. I simply hate writing about myself! I thought in the end it will let my readers get to know me a little better! The last person to nominate me was Lauren (check out her blog here - its amazing!) so I thought in the end I should just be myself and do it. So here's what you have to do:

1. Write 10 facts about yourself
2. Answer the 10 questions given to you by your nominee
3. Nominate a further 5-11 blogs to answer the 10 questions you ask them

So here we go, 10 facts about me!

1. I'm currently at university studying Criminology and Psychology at the University of Derby. I always thought I'd go to uni closer to home but wanted to move out and become more independent. I knew full well I would regret not going out of my comfort zone. I still go home every single weekend but during the week I spend time with my housemates and I'm still so glad I took that big move!

2. I work at Clarks. I have been there for about a year and a half, which is something I'm doing part time at weekends while I'm at uni. It's not all bad though as the people there are so lovely and means I can treat myself a bit more!

3. Up until the age of 14/15 I was a gymnast. I started when I was 6 and did loads of competitions, trained 10/13 hours a week and also did county sessions with other clubs joined together. Then I moved onto coaching which I really enjoyed before going to uni. I haven't been back there for about a year now which I really regret and hope I have the guts to go back more regularly when I finish uni as it's something that was a big part of my life growing up.

4. I can't take tablets. I literally have to carry round a little bottle of neurone with me at all times! I'm dreading the day when I have to take them because I will just refuse, I won't even attempt to its just some mental block I've had all this time. People think it's weird and that I should just do it. It's the same as someone being scared of a snake or a spider, I just can't do it and will most likely go the rest of my life not doing it.

5. I'm a really fussy eater. When you think of the fussy, think of it ten times over. I hate the textures of most foods, if I don't like the look of something I won't even bother. I hate trying new foods so every time someone asks me to try something, I will just refuse. It means I barely like anything healthy I have put on so much weight, but again, its just something I can't do.

6. I have been with my boyfriend for around 4 and a half years now. We got together towards the end of year 11 and haven't looked back since. He is the loveliest, sweetest person I've ever met and I can't believe we've lasted this long. He'd literally do anything for me, and I'm exactly the same with him. Hopefully we can be together for at least another 4 and a half years!

7. I don't really have that many friends. I've always kept my circle small since leaving sixth form due to me basically having shitty friends. I have my work friends, uni friends and there is literally 2 people I still speak to from sixth form. I also have my boyfriends brothers girlfriends who I speak to a lot more than anyone else. I just realised its better to have no friends than shit ones.

8. I just love Little Mix. I'm going to see them in a few weeks time which I've wanted to do for years! I also met them at HMV a few years ago, my friend queued up all night just to get us a wristband, which was for their first album signing. I just love all their songs and watching their video's just makes me feel much happier.

9. After Uni I want to do a course to become a teacher. My mum is a teacher so I guess I've kind of grew up around it. I know everyones probably thinking why didn't you just do teaching at uni? I just didn't want to pigeon holed into one subject and wanted to keep my options open. At one time I wanted to be a police officer or a forensic investigator. I have my heart set on being a teacher but I think it would still be pretty cool.

10. I am a massive hoarder. I just can't ever part with things, they always have some sort of sentimental meaning to me, which makes it so hard to clear out my room!

There, I guess that wasn't so bad. A little easier than I thought. Here are the questions that Lauren gave me:

1. If you could have one super power, what would it be? - I think it would definitely have to be the same as Lauren to be able to turn invisible! I think it would be so cool because I would be able to be a fly on the wall and listen to every one else conversations (yes - I am nosey!)

2. What first inspired you to start blogging? - My cousin Hannah started blogging a while ago now and I always enjoyed reading it, I shared the same passion and wanted to get my point across regarding products I loved, so I decided to create one for myself and I haven't looked back since!

3. Whats your favourite thing to blog about? - Well lets be honest, my blog does only have one main running theme which is beauty and that is all I am pretty much passionate about, so I guess it will have to be that.

4. If you could visit one place in the world, where would it be and why? - I think I'd love to visit America - New York, Florida that sort of thing. But on the other hand one place I have always dreamed of going is the Maldives. It just looks the most relaxing place and I'd love to have my own little hut looking out to the sea so everything is completely private, and oh also a ladder that takes me into the water too!

4. Whats your favourite season and why? - I love Autumn, because I just love the fluffy jumpers, hot chocolate, treading on crispy leaves. I know thats pretty mainstream but I always feel right in my comfort zone at this time of year.

5. Whats your favourite pizza topping? - I am pretty fussy when it comes to food, as I said above. But I absolutely LOVE pizza. But I just like cheese and tomato, boring I know.

6. If you could host a dinner party with 5 people, dead or alive, who would they be? - This is a hard one, are we talking celebs or like family? If it's celebs it would be Little Mix and probably Aly Raisman, who is my favourite gymnast ever.

7. If you could star in one movie, what would it be and who would you play? - I think it would have to be the film LOL, I just love it. I would play Lola of course (who is played by Miley Cyrus)

8. What was your favourite subject at school? - I really enjoyed English at school, and I ended up getting an A at GCSE.

9. Who is your celebrity crush that's the same gender? - This is quite difficult, but I think the Kardashians are so pretty!

10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - It will definitely either be me being a teacher or an investigator within the police (I haven't really decided yet) and hopefully married? I don't think I'd be worrying about children at that point.

Here are the blogs I have nominated to take part:  - Planet Whispers - Sophie - Sarah - Hannah - Rebecca - Sophie

Here are the questions I'd like for you to answer:

1. If you could do 3 things during your lifetime, what would they be?

2. Describe the duvet cover you currently have on your bed.

3. What is your ultimate ride or die beauty product?

4. If you could pick any career you wanted, what would it be and why?

5. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

6. What's your favourite song at the moment?

7. Top 3 people you watch on YouTube?

8. What is your favourite perfume?

9. What is your favourite make-up look to do?

10. What is the one thing you love about your blog the most?

So there we have it, it took me so long to think of those questions. I'm so glad that I eventually decided to do this as I found it so interesting and think its a really good way for my readers to get to know me a little bit better. I now need to be able to find the time to be consistent and stick to a schedule so from now on I will be posting EVERY THURSDAY. I won't be able to do more than once a week right now due to me being in my third year at uni and know it's going to take up a lot of my time, so please just bear with me on that. Next week's post will be what the poll vote on my twitter was, so stay tuned and look out for that!

High End Beauty

As a lover of higher end makeup, I have accumulated little bits and bobs from a few luxury brands. Nothing such as Giorgio Armani or Tom Ford, but still a few items that burn a hole in your pocket. Here are a few of my all time favourites.

Summer Glow

With just getting back from Cyprus (Sorry I haven't posted much AT ALL), I've found myself using more and more bronzer to help keep up the tan. It's something I've learned to love, but can also go dramatically wrong. A day doesn't go by without wearing it now, so I thought I'd share some of my all time faves that have always kept their place in my suitcase for the past couple of years. Here's a little something to help you, whether you're jetting away on holiday (you lucky thing) or just want a sun kissed look day to day.

Eye Shadow Faves

I've learned to love eye shadow, and collecting pretty palettes and single shadows has become a habit of mine. To tell the truth there are at least 10 palettes sat in the drawer that have not been touched, as I can not bring myself to ruin them, but the ones in the picture are very well loved. Over the past few months I haven't worn much makeup at all, so it's a real treat and something I enjoy putting on when doing my makeup.
